This site was created to fight The California State Fish and Game Commission’s proposed regulations: State hearings on October 1, 2009 could eliminate due process and allow officers to seize pets if they “look” related to a wild animal.
This affects any “wolfy” looking canine, i.e. Tamaskans, Utonagans, Siberian Husky, German Shepherds, Northern Inuit Dog, Wolf Dogs, Akitas, Belgian Shepherds….
These regulations specifically authorize the officers and wardens to determine the species of your pet without the burden of proof, and requires the application of the “most protective” standard. This will enable the state and local animal regulation to seize your pets, force you to provide containment systems that most people cannot meet or afford and perhaps worse. Fish and Game standards are the basis for many protocols and actions for local animal control. Many other breeds and species are also affected, and this could be the start of a ban on other full breeds from the State of California.
